Blood oranges are a unique variety of orange with a beautiful reddish-burgundy flesh. They have a distinct sweet-tart flavour and make a vibrant addition to various dishes.
You can squeeze them to make fresh blood orange juice. It’s delicious on its own or mixed with other citrus fruits.
Slice them, and add them to salads for a burst of colour and a refreshing citrusy kick. They go well with greens like rocket, spinach, or mixed salad greens.
They are only available for a short time each year, make blood orange marmalade to enjoy the unique flavour all-year-round. Spread it on toast, scones, or use it as a glaze for roasted meats.
I’ve also added three pasta sauces from Otway Pasta Company to compliment their spaghetti and fettucine range of pastas.
Have a great week!
Cheers,
Michael
