Shortage of red capsicum; Stone fruits are tasting great!

November 30, 2025

There is a nation wide shortage of red capsicum, but it will probably only last a week or two.

Red capsicum are a green capsicum kept on the vine a little longer (until they turn red).

So for this reason, the massive price spike that occurred last week, should be over by the end of next week (hopefully).

I’ve taken home apricots, peaches and nectarines and let them ripen for a couple of days… their flavours are excellent, well worth a couple of days wait. For those that like to eat their stone fruit hard, you’ll be able to eat them right out of the Micky Booth box (after washing them).

Have a great week!

Cheers,

Michael

Peaches, Nectarines, Apricots available individually (each)

November 23, 2025

Peaches, Nectarines and Apricots are available by the (kg) or individually (each).

There is a choice between the large (premium) strawberries and the smaller ones. Both are Victorian grown and both come in 250g punnets.

Just a reminder that plums aren’t available until the New Year.

Have a great week!

Cheers,

Michael

Apricots are available; Grapes are Australian grown

November 16, 2025

The full suite of summer fruits is now available, and they are all Australian grown.

Apricots have started, as to have the Australian grown red and green seedless grapes.

It’s getting very close to the orange season changeover season (Valencias will soon replace the Navels).

Apples are still reasonably good, but they are coming out of storage now so they are not “just off the tree”.

Have a great week!

Cheers,

Michael

Deliveries as usual this week; Red Papaya is available

November 9, 2025

Deliveries as usual this week on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th November.

The summer fruits are starting to come in.

Red papaya (from Queensland) and cherries (from Young in NSW) are now available.

Papaya and Paw Paw are from the same species, but in my opinion, the red papaya is the sweetest. Paw Paw is round, whereas papaya is narrower, that’s how you tell the difference.

Have a great week!

Cheers,

Michael

Deliveries as usual this week; Not the following (Melb Cup week)

October 26, 2025

Delivering as usual this week, but not the following week which is Melbourne Cup week.

I’ve delivered both weeks of the last two school holidays, so need a week off before the busy period leading up to Christmas.

No price change to the peaches and nectarines as yet, still too early really, but they are available.

The navel oranges and the afoura mandarins are getting towards the end, and are starting to dry out just a little bit.

As soon as the Victorian grown valencia oranges are available, we’ll switch over to them.

Have a great week!

Cheers,

Michael

Local strawberries are back on; Two sizes to choose from

October 19, 2025

Victorian strawberries grown in the Yarra Valley are back in the Market, and there are two sizes to choose from: Large and Small.

Peaches and Nectarines have started, but are only available by the kg and they are expensive.

They will be more affordable in the next couple of weeks.

It’s a good sign, the warmer weather is upon us.

Have a great week!

Cheers,

Michael

The Victorian artichoke season runs parallel to the asparagus season. Peak season for asparagus and globe artichokes is September to December.
