Clingstone peaches are a late variety of peach. They are called clingstone because the stone of the fruit doesn’t break away from the flesh of the fruit like other peaches. This week they are available in one kg portions (about 4 or 5 peaches).
William pears have been available for the last four weeks. They are a summer pear, and they ripen up very quickly (change colour from green to yellow).
Packham pears will start very soon, they take much longer to ripen.
Yes, it is confusing! Williams ripen quickly, Packham slowly.
Chocolate honeycomb is available in the pantry section again. Unfortunately there has been a world wide spike in the price of chocolate which affects small local chocolatiers much more than their global competitors.
Have a great week!
Cheers,
Michael
