It’s that time of the year when the summer fruits start to disappear. That’s right, no more peaches, nectarines and plums. The winter fruits are just starting to be picked: pink lady apples, Queensland imperial mandarins, Australian grown green kiwifruit are all available now.
Green packham pears are also just off the tree, replacing the early season ‘William’ variety which are available from late January until the end of March. Packham pears take a little longer to ripen than William pears, so no need to put them in the fridge.
