Spoke to my market contacts yesterday, looks like the higher vegetable prices will be with us for most of the winter. As I said in last week’s update, because we are a small buyer, I’m hoping we will still be able to offer a good range.
No snow peas or sugar snap peas this coming week, they are available, but the quality is very poor. Asian Greens such as Bok Choy and Chinese Broccoli (Gai/Lan) may be better alternatives to use in a stir fry.
Plenty of fruit to choose from, but no strawberries until the Queensland season start in a few weeks. Even when they start, there will be issues with water damage, so we’ll have to wait and see.
Have a good week,
Cheers,
Michael
