Most apples are picked between February and April, and then stored in cool stores for the rest of the year. New season fuji apples are just off the tree, and the ones we have are small, so they are ideal for school lunch boxes. We are still selling pink lady and granny smith apples from last season, and they are surprisingly crunchy. New season gala apples have been available for about a month, but my opinion is that this variety is a bit hit and miss. New season fuji, and the old season pink ladys are the best options.
