It’s time to bring out the big guns, yep, it’s time for “Soup Vegetables”. Chop em’ up and throw em’ in with some stock. My all time favourite is “Chicken and Pearl Barley Soup”, now that is a hearty soup. It’s got to be made with real chicken, not just chicken stock.
Other soups that hit the spot are that all time favourite “Pumpkin Soup” which can be made with either the Jap (Kent) or Butternut varieties.
Celery, leeks, parsnips, turnips, swede, carrots, potatoes, pumpkin….. are all great in a soup.
