Strawberry special continues (2 for $6; 3 for $8)
Queensland strawberries: 2 punnets for $6; 3 punnets for $8
Market Update Sunday 16 June 2019
Red sweet potato is available this week along with the usual gold variety that we always offer.
Corn is not available this week, jumped in price towards the end of last week because of low supply.
The imperial mandarins are from Mildura in Victoria’s north west. They are not at their peak yet, still getting the odd dry one here and there, hoping they are better quality this coming week.
Navel oranges are excellent, they are the best orange for eating.
Will start Queensland strawberries very soon, just waiting for them to drop in price.

Slight change to where you enter the 5% discount code
The company that hosts my online store made a slight change to the checkout process last week, and a number of customers couldn’t find where to enter the weekly 5% discount coupon code which I send out every Sunday and Wednesday afternoons.
They have added an “Add Coupon”button on the “Review Order” page, and a “Add a coupon” button on the final checkout page just above the Payment options.
Sorry for any confusion,
Cheers,
Michael

Soup packs and soup veggies available this week
We’ve had a pretty good run with the weather, but it looks like it’s time to dust off the soup recipes. Pumpkin, potatoes, carrots, leeks, parsnips, turnips and swedes are great in a vegetable soup.
Buy them individually, or purchase our 1kg soup pack which contains a potato, a brown onion, carrots, stick of celery, parsnip and a turnip (or a swede).
Looks like the Queensland mandarins are coming to an end, the Victorian ones from Mildura should be starting this week.
The red seedless grapes are still going, but the quality is starting to drop off. Apples, Navel oranges, pears and kiwi fruit are the best fruit options at the moment.

All things Pears, plus our NEW peanut butter
This week’s theme is pears and peanut butter!
Packham pears are excellent at the moment, and are ripening up much quicker than they were a month ago.
They’re a green pear, and should be ready to eat within a few days. Store them in the fruit bowl, not in the fridge.
The D’Anjou pear is a purple pear and has just hit the market again. It has white flesh, and is perfect in a salad.
The Nashi is an old favourite, looks more like an apple, but has a subtle pear flavour.
We also sell a Pear and Raspberry banana bread, as well as a plain banana bread and a blueberry banana bread.
Finally, we are launching a crunchy and a smooth peanut butter made from 100% grown Australian peanuts. No additives, just peanuts.

New Product: Peanut butter from 100% Australian Peanuts
Market Update Sunday 12th May 2019
Vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, celery and leeks are grown in Melbourne’s outer suburbs all year round.
Others such as zucchinis, corn, snow peas and beans are grown in Victoria for half the year, and in Queensland for the other half. I haven’t been offering sweet corn the past few weeks, as it was Victorian corn getting towards the end of the season. The Queensland corn has started again, so will be available this week.
Those of you that have purchased the baby brussels sprouts the last couple of weeks would have noticed that they have been packaged in a compostable tray. For more information about the compostable packaging, visit Packed by Nature.
